Thomas Whitelaw (1840-1917) was a United Presbyterian and later United Free Church minister, serving charges in Durham, Glasgow, and Kilmarnock. The Dictionary of Scottish Church History and Theology says that despite being widely read in German and other theology, he had a conservative view of Scripture but denied Divine impassibility.
