James Gall (1784-1874),was the publisher who founded Gall & Inglis, and inventor of a triangular alphabet for the blind. His son Rev James Gall was founder of Carrubbers Close Mission in Edinburgh, who also wrote astronomical publications and devised a map projection for the celestial sphere which later reappeared as Peters' Projection.
